#MFFrecommends: Summer holiday fun at Battersea Power Station Festival

So if you’re like most other dads at this time of year, you’re off work for a couple of weeks and looking for something to do with the kids. You’ve got a couple of things planned, of course, because you were a little bit organised, right?! But this Summer holiday stuff is real, it’s a 6 week slog and the kids need to be entertained. Every day.

But rest easy. We got you homie. You know we always come with those recommendations at just the right time when you’re at your wits end. So let’s get to it…

Battersea Power Station are hosting a festival all summer and there’s loads of family friendly events taking place. From a city beach, swing, hip-hop and boxing classes to roller disco  – these are just some of the exciting activities you can expect to experience at Battersea Power Station’s POWER OF SUMMER FESTIVAL. Battersea Power Station’s Circus West Village will be hosting a bumper filled festival that will run throughout the summer with activities and pop ups for all of the family.

The Power of Summer Festival will have a different theme each week including Power in Young People, Flower Power, Power of Word and Power Workout. Celebrating all things ‘power” at Battersea Power Station you can expect. There’s loads of free events throughout the festival and you can find out all about the different stuff going on here.


This weekend (Friday 11 August – Sunday 13 August) – there will be a performance by BOUNCING CATS AND BOOM BOOM PUPS. This is where you journey into the world of Animal Land where beatbox, rap and graffiti come together. 

This immersive, high-energy performance features spoken-word artist Maxwell

 Golden and graffiti artist Mr Dane. Set within a purpose-built graffiti installation, an original children’s book is brought to life and interwoven with freestyle hip-hop improvisation.

There are shows at 11.30 & 2.30 (50min show)
 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Village Hall
. The cost is £7 for adults, £3 for children aged 3+ and a family ticket is £15 for a family of 4.
