At the beginning of every month we’ll be updating you on the brand new fresh UK music that should be on your playlist.
What Should You Be Listening To? The Freshest UK music on ‘The October Playlist’.
Baseman – ‘New Wavin Remix’ ft Chip, Krept & Konan and Sneakbo
Taken off his mixtape ‘Sorry for the wave’ this tune is absolutely banger! Baseman has a unique melodic flow that I easily see being successful across the atlantic. To add to that, each of the featured artists kill the tune. The lyrical wordplay is crazy, like Konan’s “pull out the WSTRN, turn your big brother IN2 an ANGEL”. BOOOOOM!
Swindle – ‘Works Haffi Run’ ft Ghetts
Swindle has been one of my favourite producers for awhile now. He’s been in the game for years, producing a variety of genres and of late he has really found his own style mixing live instrumentation with crazy basslines and drums that have been mashing up dancefloors across the world. Swindle always comes back to his grime roots and this collaboration with Ghetts is FIRE!
Ray Blk – ‘Chill Out’ ft SG Lewis
Ray Blk is a special talent that we have supported heavily on the site. Her track ‘My Hood’ is a classic and she’s back with another soulful offering in ‘Chill Out’. From the first chord this tune sounds fresh. Definitely worth a listen.
Mist – ‘Karlas Back’
Now this tune is a banger! Mist flows over the Steel Banglez produced beat with a swagger that just makes you feel that bit more fly. I’m not quite sure who Karla is but who cares when the verses and flows are sick like this. ‘Karlas Back’ is our October turn up tune of the month!!
MoStack – ‘Liar Liar’
I think MoStack is set for a very very good 2017. His fan base is huge and it’s undeniable that his style is unique. Our playlist this month is quite swagger heavy and MoStack brings another wavey riddim with ‘Liar Liar’. Be sure to check out the video to which features cameos from an array of UK artists.
J Hus – ‘Playing Sports’
So J Hus just came back from his short break with this absolute banger! ‘She asked me what I do I said I play for the Gunners’ has to be one of the lines of the year so far. Not only can J Hus make very catchy tunes, he’s also a very clever rapper and the way he raps about trapping and sports in this tune is very witty. Play this one LOUD in the whip!
