When it’s raining and they really don’t fancy getting their wellies on for some puddle action, there is only one thing that can get them off the sofa: DADDY DISCO! I absolutely love daddy disco time, it gives me a chance to share one of my major passions with them and get them to burn some of that energy! More importantly I really feel that it provides the opportunity for some quality bonding.
Genuinely there are fewer pleasures than just simply dancing with my babies. I like to think that they feel the same and hopefully in a few years’ time my two will look back and think that life doesn’t get much better than dancing with my daddy. The reality may be more embarrassment rather than pride on their part but we can’t get away from the old adage that the simplest pleasures are the best.
With all this in mind I thought I would share our top 5 family disco tracks:
1. Pharrell Williams – Happy
Pretty much guaranteed to get the boy jumping and singing! Catchy is an understatement for this Daddy Disco classic
2. Carly Rae Jepson – Call me maybe
Not one of my faves but one of Mummy’s faves and no reason why she should miss out!
3. Crazy Crazy Nights – Kiss
The boy is going through a bit of a Kiss phase at the moment and we can’t go a day without rocking out to this. I have hidden the facepaint.
4. Katy Perry – Roar
I adore Katy Perry and I am hard pressed to think of any better pop stars around at the minute and the munchkins seem to agree. Was a toss-up between this and Firework so I put it to the committee, and to quote the little lady “Tiger song Daddy”
5. Taylor Swift – Shake it off
ARRRGGGGGH once this gets in your head it don’t leave! Earworm material at its finest!
I am sure I am not the only daddy DJ out there so please feel free to share the tracks you and your brood get down with as I am always on the lookout for more stuff to put on the playlist!

Andy I love this. My neice loves the named tracks by Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Pharrell and I have danced so much to them. I will intro the others to her. Thank you for sharing another great blog.
