MFF recommends: Emirates Cable Cars

We know how it is. You’ve got the kids over the weekend, its nice weather outside and you’re thinking about how you can keep them entertained while enjoying the time yourself. Lucky enough, you know about musicfootballfatherhood.com and you know we wouldn’t recommend just any old day out.

We headed down to Greenwich for a family day out in early April, lucky enough for us it was one of the hottest days of the year. The 02 has changed alot over the years, the first time I visited was for a massive NYE rave to bring in the year 2001 but that’s a whole other blog post!

This was the first time I had visited the 02 with the family and we bought my sister, brother-in-law and niece along too. The Emirates Cable Car experience offers great sky high views of London. Each car has space for about 8 people and there are screens installed which offer abit of history about the different landmarks you might spot. You can either buy a one way ticket which goes from the 02 to Royal Docks or a return ticket which allows you too take in the views twice. I definitely recommend getting a return ticket so you can have some more time to take in the scenery. London is a great city and the Cable Cars are a great way of experiencing it from a totally different angle.

The Cable Car ticket comes along with entrance to the neighbouring aviation museum. It’s a nice addition which includes a pilot simulation, some electronic games and information on history of aviation.

You’ll probably spend about an hour altogether on the Cable Cars and in the musuem so it’s likely you’ll want to do something else while you’re in Greenwich. The Cable Cars are a 2 minute walk to the 02 which has loads of activities, cinemas and restaurants to enjoy.

Parking at the 02 is also fairly reasonable. We paid £8 for upto 4 hours which is ok when you compare it to places Westfield.

Overall, the Emirates Car Cable experience gets the all important MFF seal of approval.
