If you ask most parents of toddlers and young children a question about what their children like to watch on TV, the answer is likely to include Mr Tumble. And our daughter is no different. So when we heard Justin, the star of the show, would be coming to our local Watford theatre, to perform Justin Live, we had to get tickets!
Justin Live sees Justin step away from the television screen and into the theatre. We are expecting an interactive family show which is packed full of songs, dances and fun games.
The show plays for one day only on Sunday 27 October at 11am and 2pm. For tickets contact the box office on 01923 571102 or visit https://watfordcolosseum.co.uk/Online/tickets-justin-fletcher-live-watford-2019.
To find out more about the show, have a read of the interview below with Justin himself!
What are you most looking forward to on this tour of Justin Live? I’m really looking forward to visiting theatres and meeting new friends. We’re visiting some theatres that we’ve been to before, but we are also going to some new venues. I really enjoy visiting new towns and cities in the UK that I’ve not performed at before.
Why do you enjoy performing in theatres? It’s lovely to be able to do a show that brings families to the theatre together, often for the first time. I love live theatre, it’s wonderful to see all the children and their families who watch and support my television programmes. You can’t beat the atmosphere of a live show.
What’s your favourite part of the show? I really enjoy the big interactive songs because everyone can join in with them, both children and adults alike. I also love the slapstick scenes; we can’t do a show without a few custard pies!
Have you done much filming this year? If so, what have you been working on? I’ve been filming a new series of “Something Special” this year and a brand-new show also for CBeebies called “Gigglequiz”. I’ve also just finished working on the new Shaun the Sheep film “Farmageddon”.
We see you’ve played quite a number of festivals over the summer. What was that like? I love performing at festivals as we take the show outdoors and the atmosphere is fantastic. We get to see some great acts at the festivals, and I enjoy seeing other performers on stage. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and everyone is having a great time.
Why is it important that parents bring their children into a theatre from a young age? Quite often, children who come are experiencing their first visit to a theatre and it is very important to encourage the next generation of theatre go-ers.
Who is this show suitable for? What age group in particular? The show will appeal to everyone who enjoys watching my programmes on CBeebies and is suitable for the whole family. There’s some great song and dance routines as well as hilarious sketches and comedy moments.
What can audiences expect from the production? Audiences can expect to join in with the fun from the moment the show starts. We love to have a big party with our friends and have lots of fun along the way. All of the songs in the show are interactive so everyone can join in.
Audience feedback on Justin’s previous live show was fantastic with Kerry Lynne Pyke’s blog claiming “The show was a bundle of fun and didn’t disappoint. Bright costumes, great music and Justin’s trademark slapstick humour kept our children – and hoardes of others – enchanted.”
As the show stars one of the biggest names in children’s television it is no surprise that the show is almost sold out. So, if you want to be part of the biggest party in town you better be quick!
